Lesson Expectations

- Student is to come to lesson with all prepared material

-Must be respectful to their peers and educators

-Student must maintain basic care and maintenance of their instrument (how to and materials needed to be purchased by parents/guardians will be provided by first lesson and will also have a separate page)

lessons will consist of

-The evaluation of student abilities and music theory knowledge

-Technique work on Fundamentals such as articulation, dynamics, range, flexibility

-Work on healthy playing habits that will lead to long term growth and how to avoid playing related injuries

-Scales both minor and major

-Music given from the band director

-Note names, correct fingerings

-Other skills and music that are specific to the student/s

Student Development

Due to the individuality of the students everyone’s lesson instruction will be very individualized. Everyone develops at different paces and different instruction works for everyone. It is important that students understand this and that it is okay no matter how fast they may develop. I will push them to be the best musicians they can be while keeping music engaging, fun and exciting.
